After weeks, or even months of hard work, you've finally finished your game. But...what's next? It's common to wonder what the next step is to help your boardgame reach more people. That's why we've prepared a guide to help you take the next big step.
Finishing the development is just the beginning, so here you have a small guide with tips to help your boardgame make it to the tables of many players:
1. Create an atractive presentation
Your boardgame needs a cover letter. Prepare:
A striking presentation with high-quality images of the final version.
A short description that summarize the game experience.
A short explanatory video (simple, but useful).
2. Prepare online content in an accessible format.

Have the game instructions well-written and available in PDF format.

Add examples, illustrations and a summary in a single page for quick consultations. You can also add other elements to download and expand the game experience.
3. Show the game in public places
Presenting your boardgame in real environments as shops or specialized stores, is an excellent way to attract interest. Make your game reach more people in a engaging way.

At AGR, we collaborate with Replay Boardgame Café, so we can deliver your boardagame and connect you with their team.
They offer an space that supports emerging creators, where you can organize game sessions, events or presentations.
4. Share and communicate
Share your game in social media, forums and specialized groups.
Facebook groups of boardgames.
Specialized forums
Instagram y TikTok (short videos with gameplay moments or an explanation).
Remember to use a friendly tone, showing people enjoying the game and telling what makes your design unique.
5. Decide how to publish it
There are several forms to bring your boardgame to market, and the decision will depend on your goals and resources:
Option A: Self-Publish
This is a great option if: you want to go solo, and you have a small print run that can work well through word of mouth.
You can launch your own product. To do so:
Kickstarter or Verkami campaign. Consider it if you haven't done this before to raise founds, build awareness or add something extra to your game.
Consider selling through Amazon.
Create your own online store or website.
Reach out to, collaborate with and promote your boardgame in physical stores.
Option B: Traditional distribution
6. Explore your own path

Knock on every door you can. Whether are companies, institutions, or media outlets. Look for common groups similar to your theme, region, or interests to gain visibility. Sometimes the most unexpected collaboration turns to be the most fruitful.
In summary...
Your boardgame is almost done. Now it's the turn to promote it, showcase it, and believe in it.
