Did you know that any board game, by law, is considered a toy?
This means your game must meet certain mandatory requirements in order to be marketed.
What is EN71?
The EN71 regulation governs different aspects related to safety, such as physical and mechanical properties (preventing dangerous small parts or sharp edges).
Its goal is to protect consumers, especially children, from potential risks.

What do you need to do to comply with the standard?
Design and manufacture your game with safe materials.
Include all legally required consumer information on the packaging.
Keep the technical documentation available and up to date.
How do we help you?
We use materials that comply with current regulations and carry out laboratory tests on specific materials and complete games on a regular basis.
We advise you on labeling and mandatory legal information, providing the necessary logos and ensuring the box includes all required information.
We provide you with the CE certificate that Amazon or other suppliers will require.
Mandatory requirements on your game’s box
The box must obligatorily include the following information:
CE marking logo.
Warning “not suitable for children under 3 years” or corresponding logo.
Mandatory consumer information: recommended age, number of players, and playing time.
Minimum age warning in case of explicit content.
Name of the publisher/manufacturer
Publisher’s postal address
Country of manufacture
Batch number corresponding to the order
This regulation must be complied with even if the game is not intended for sale.
If not met, you could face issues with suppliers or marketplaces like Amazon, which may withdraw your product, and we would not be able to certify it.
Are there other regulations you need to consider?
Each country has its own packaging regulations, which are essential in order to distribute products within its territory. In Spain, we can handle this management for you, and we also provide information on requirements in other markets.
Beyond the European Union, there are specific regulations for board games that, while different, are compatible with CE marking.
In addition, we are prepared for the upcoming implementation of the EUDR regulation, which will require complete traceability of the materials used. Thanks to our FSC certification and experience in sustainability, we are ready to adapt with confidence.
With you from square one.
